I've Been Schooled

I wasn't quiiiiiite ready to discuss on the blogosphere yesterday, but we made it through the first day of school.  Some of us (Molly) with flying colors, and some of us (me) just barely eeked by.  Of course, the parents stayed with the kiddos yesterday, so the real test is on Tuesday.  Molly will be delighted to be rid of me.  Yesterday, as she worked with her new friends at the craft table, she leaned over to whisper to me.  I leaned in, anticipating her to kiss my cheek or (better!) whisper adorable little concerns that I would happily put to rest in my most motherly voice.  Instead, she said, "Mommy.  You can go now!  This is just for children!"  Sigh.  So it begins.  Here's my little Preschooler on her first day:
Still recovering from the emotional roller coaster that is the first day of school, but Ad Bits relevant posts will be back in effect soon.  Promise!

Oh Jules, you know there are just some things - no matter how old your girl gets - that you never forget. Krissy did the same to me and I remember all too well the feelings you're having. It sucks that they don't stay little bits for long but believe me there are even more amazing things to come and the friendship you gain is WONDERFUL! Krissy is my best friend and I thank God every single day that I have her, even with all the trials and tribulations of getting her to this point. Big big hugs from one Mom to another!

Thank you for the encouraging words! I feel like a crazy person that I'd get all upset over 5 measly hours of school a week, but sure enough! I'm a wreck! I hope hope hope my girls and I are as close as you and Krissy are someday! And that they can turn out fabulous (and in one piece!) like Krissy! If you ever want to write a parenting book I would totally buy it! :)

Look at her! So, so happy! I can see you in her. Congrats to little Molly. What a big girl she is!

Sorry Jules. I know. It's hard.

I got the "Mommy, you can go now!" the first day I dropped my son off for K3. Part of me was proud of my independent little man, the other part was crushed.
