Shark Bits

Ha!  In all my commercial-with-talking-animals days I have never seen a chatty shark!  I like it.  Of course, Snickers could do a whole ad campaign around mice and mailboxes and I'd still adore every advertising mastermind on Snickers' payroll.

Even if I did have to endure a few shark nibbles, I'd be happy to mow down a couple Snickers.  You know, for science.  For the fun of it, I Googled some shark jokes (I know what you're thinking and yes, it is your lucky day!):

What is the average shark's favorite movie?  Shark Shank Redemption
Why do sharks live in the ocean and not the sky?  The sky is Jet territory
Did you hear about the aquarium owner?  His shark was worse than his pike
What did the shark say when something radical (!) happened: JAWESOME!
What did the shark plead in the murder case?  Not gill-ty!

You're welcome!

Puns To Snicker At

Snickers, I'm here to tell you, it is enough that you are a heavenly concoction of deliciousness. Your choco-caramel-nuttiness is enough in and of itself. But then. Then! You deliver in the ad department as well, bringing us Betty White playing football (see 2/17/10 post) and now Aretha Franklin! Who has never done an ad spot as far as I can remember. Leave it to you, Snickers, to bring her out of apparent commercial spot snobbiness. You are clearly a product she can R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Only a Chain Of Fools wouldn't love her in this commercial. Okay, okay, don't get your (s)knickers in a bunch- I'll stop. Just know- the moment I wake up, before I put on my makeup, I say a little prayer for you.

Note: As if writing this post isn't making me hungry enough! I am reminded of a fabulous little restaurant I went to in downtown Nashville, while visiting my good friend, Molly. If you're ever in town you must go to Aretha Frankenstein's. Get their pancakes and their biscuits. Yes, that is a lot of carbs, but you will be indebted to me eternally for the recommendation. So you're welcome.

A Milestone Poem

Here it is- my hundredth post
Featuring the Super Bowl ads
I loved the most.

First up is a (not really) groundhog
Appropriate since I often feature
Animal ads on this blog.

Next comes the hog's cousin
A musical beaver!
Monster's marketing broad
may have been high and for that
I thank 'er. (?!?!)

I don't love this one as a whole(ly)
but it makes the list because
I like hearing T-Pain say,
"guacamole".

And now! For my favorite of the bunch
I could eat their product every day for lunch.
I have a soft spot for dear Betty White
So this Snickers commercial was a special delight!

There were others I liked
But we don't have all day
Maybe in my next hundred posts
They'll come out to play.
